Dr. Amy Clayton's Background
Dr. Amy Levine Clayton is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist with over 12 years of clinical experience. Her areas of focus include: substance abuse and dependence, depression, issues of loss and grief, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, Perinatal Mood Disorders including the Baby Blues and postpartum depression. She treats adolescents and adults in individual, couple and family therapy. In addition, she provides individual therapy to pre-licensed mental health professionals. She has experience as a counselor, therapist, and social worker in a variety of settings, including drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities, day treatment facilities, hospitals, psychiatric inpatient facilities, outpatient mental health clinics and private practice. Amy is also a current professor teaching psychology at Los Angeles Valley College.
Dr. Clayton earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Sonoma State University, her master's degree in social work (MSW) from The University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Ryokan University. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and a member of Postpartum Support International (PSI).
